Desired Qualifications:

• Valid EIPA score of 4.0 and passage of the EIPA written assessment, as required by the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health)
• Alternative certifications such as RID and NIC welcomed, with EIPA written completion still necessary
• Experience interpreting in high school settings preferred
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and school staff
• Completion of fingerprinting and drug screening in accordance with district requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services to high school-aged students in educational settings, adapting sign language to various learning contexts and individual student needs
• Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers in classrooms and school events
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional standards consistent with ethical interpreting practices
• Collaborate with school personnel to support students’ participation in the full academic experience
• Adhere to scheduled hours following the established school calendar (Full-time, Monday through Friday)
