Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to perform various responsibilities pertaining to specimen collection and lab operations. The main goal of the position is to ensure accurate and efficient execution of phlebotomy-related tasks, while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens.
- Verify authorizations and obtain consent for limited tests.
- Document per QA standards; maintain logs and records.
- Manage and verify lab supply inventory.
- Send specimens to reference labs as needed.
- Process lab orders, reports, and daily paperwork.
- Identify and band patients for transfusions; follow blood bank policy.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment.
- Perform waived testing under CLIA; record control data.
- Ensure OSHA compliance and universal precautions.
- Dispose of hazardous materials properly.
- Maintain clean, stocked work areas.
- Safeguard patient and staff confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Prior Phlebotomy Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Flu Shot
- Hep B
- Phlebotomy Certification (preferred but not required)
Additional Requirements
Monday - Friday: 8:00am-5pm
