We are seeking a Trusts & Estates Attorney to join our Estates & Trusts Practice Group. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career attorney (1+ years of experience preferred) who is interested in building a practice in estate planning, estate administration, trusts, and related areas. Candidates with limited or no formal post-graduate experience in trusts and estates will be considered if they have relevant coursework, clinics, internships, clerkships, or other meaningful exposure to the field during law school.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with drafting and reviewing estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related instruments.
- Support estate and trust administration matters, including probate filings, asset inventories, tax-related tasks, and communications with fiduciaries and beneficiaries.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on issues involving wills, trusts, fiduciary duties, and Pennsylvania estate and trust law.
- Assist with client meetings, document preparation, and coordination of closings or settlements under the supervision of senior attorneys.
- Contribute to business succession planning and related planning for business owners and families.
- Maintain organized files and provide responsive support on multiple matters in a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (or eligibility and willingness to sit for the bar promptly).
- At least one (1) year of legal experience preferred. Candidates with less experience will be considered if they demonstrate meaningful exposure to trusts and estates through law school coursework, clinics, internships, summer associate positions, or similar experiences.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and interpersonal skills.
- Genuine interest in estate planning, administration, and working with individuals and families.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
