Special Education Teacher - Longmont, Colorado

Step into an engaging, collaborative role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher within a welcoming middle school environment just outside of Longmont, CO. This contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, offering the chance to work full-time with a small classroom of 10 students, alongside supportive paraeducators and a multidisciplinary team that includes a BCBA, SLP, OT/PT, and school psychologists/social workers.

Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Hold, or be in process of securing, a current CDE (Colorado Department of Education) teaching license; documentation will be required for interview consideration
• At least one year of classroom experience in special education settings
• Comfortable collaborating with peer mentors, support staff, and related service providers
• Flexible, team-oriented attitude and commitment to adapting to student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, adapt, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to diverse learning styles and abilities
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture, working collaboratively with team members including paraeducators and therapists
• Communicate and collaborate regularly with staff, families, and peer mentors to support each student’s growth
• Monitor student progress, maintain timely documentation, and ensure compliance with all educational requirements
• Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current on best practices in special education
