Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week contract requiring 3+ years of IR experience and ARRT (R) certification.
Details
- Interventional Radiology department performing a wide range of IR and special procedures
- Day shift, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- On-call requirement of 2 weeknights per week and approximately every 5th weekend, covering two locations
- Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed, including assisting in Xray when IR is not busy
- GE Innova IGS equipment used along with fluoroscopy and PACS systems
- Epic EMR used, experience required
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of IR experience, with 2 years of recent in-specialty experience within the past 12 months and no employment gaps greater than 90 days
- Current BLS and ARRT (R) certification required; ARRT (VI) preferred
- Kansas license (LRT) required; license required if applicable
- Both Kansas and Missouri or compact license must be in hand due to potential floating between facilities
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Proficiency in a wide range of IR procedures including aortography, embolization, IVC filter placement/removal, liver biopsy, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, renal angiography, stent placements, nephrostomy, and vertebroplasty
- Skilled in venous access procedures including port access/management and PICC line care and maintenance
- Experience with equipment set up, sterile field maintenance, room circulation, and access site preparation
- Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and sterile technique
- Must be able to work with Epic EMR
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing a broad range of interventional and special procedures across abdominal, pelvic, genitourinary, vascular, and neurological studies
- Maintains equipment and inventory, stocks supplies, and follows infection control protocols
- Scrubs provided
- First-time travelers accepted
- Maximum RTO of 7 days
- Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
- Returning staff must have 18 months of tenure with a required 3-month break in service; former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
