Mechanical Assembly Technician
Location: Middletown, OH
Pay: $21.00 – $26.00 per hour
Role OverviewThe Mechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling machinery, operating wire‑winding equipment, and supporting engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure high‑quality, precise, and reliable production. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Position Responsibilities- Machine assembly — Perform mechanical assembly of equipment with a high level of accuracy and quality.
- Wire winding — Operate wire‑winding machinery as a secondary responsibility.
- Engineering collaboration — Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Metrology use — Use calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to take precise measurements.
- Quality control — Follow quality directives and maintain strict adherence to quality standards.
- Material handling — Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and scissor lifts safely.
- Continuous improvement — Contribute ideas to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safety engagement — Actively participate in site safety programs.
- 5S participation — Maintain a clean, organized, and work‑ready environment through 5S practices.
- Quality focus — Maintain focus on tight‑tolerance quality standards and processes.
- Overtime — Work occasional overtime as required.
- Other duties — Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Education/Experience
- Trade school diploma in a mechanical discipline (industrial maintenance, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.) OR
- 1–3 years of industrial experience
- 3–5 years of assembly or machine‑tool operation experience preferred
- Technical Skills
- Metrology tools — Experience with calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Blueprint reading and strong mechanical aptitude
- Machine shop skills
- Computer skills — Basic data entry
- Work Requirements
- Reliable and flexible; able to work additional hours on short notice
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment
