Openwork is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team.  In this role, you'll be responsible for assembling parts and subassemblies, performing quality checks, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Assemble components and subassemblies using hand tools or machinery
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions
  • Position and align parts accurately based on measurements or templates
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure components meet specifications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic assembly issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including tools and equipment
  • Prepare materials and workstations by reviewing part lists and gathering necessary tools
  • Document production progress and complete quality forms
  • Follow all safety procedures, company rules, and guidelines
  • Monitor inventory levels and report low supplies as needed
  • Assist in multiple assembly areas as needed based on production demands
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED, or 1–3 months of related experience preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English
  • Basic math skills: able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Comfortable using standard hand tools
  • No certifications or licenses required
Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the shift
  • Frequent use of hands to handle small components and tools
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs regularly
  • Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and equipment
  • Loud noise levels are typical in the production area
  • Fast-paced and team-oriented environment
