For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.
NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, technical, and operational support to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).
Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.
PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions. This position is funded for 1,248 hours (52 weeks).

HS/GED Degree in Construction related work history preferred with minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in building construction trade.

Performs recurring building and utility maintenance and operations using skills across multiple trades, including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, roofing, concrete work, painting, and general repairs. Oversees janitorial services for the administrative building and Nature Center restrooms to ensure clean, safe, and functional facilities. Supports habitat restoration efforts through mowing, invasive plant control, and general grounds maintenance.

- Required Certifications: Valid driver?s license
- Health and Safety Considerations: Position will receive on the job training and applicable JHAs for each job. This will ensure that position will follow proper safety procedures for work efforts.
- Required Safety Gear: Eye protection will be worn whenever work conditions present a risk of airborne debris or particles entering the eyes, appropriate work gloves will be used to protect the hands during maintenance and restoration activities, and sturdy work boots will be worn to protect the feet from workplace hazards while performing assigned duties.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work in hot and humid conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
