Kennel Assistant

Kennel Assistant Penmac Staffing is hiring a Kennel Assistant for a local animal care facility in the Brainerd area. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves animals, enjoys staying active, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate will be dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working with both dogs and cats in a fast-paced setting. 

Requirements for the Kennel Assistant

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Knowledge of and experience with animals preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding work for up to 9 hours per day
• Ability to lift and carry 40+ pounds regularly
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Must be dependable with consistent attendance
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Comfortable handling energetic and active dogs
• Must be willing to follow cleaning and sanitation procedures and report any animal health or behavior concerns promptly 

Kennel Assistant ResponsibilitiesAs a Kennel Assistant, you will help provide a clean, comfortable, and healthy environment for animals by:

• Cleaning, scrubbing, and sanitizing dog kennels
• Cleaning cat kennels, adoption rooms, and litter boxes
• Feeding and watering animals
• Cleaning indoor and outdoor animal waste throughout the day
• Bathing dogs and cats as needed
• Washing dishes and laundry
• Sweeping and mopping facility areas
• Lifting and moving bags of dog food and cat litter
• Walking dogs and providing daily care and attention
• Monitoring animals and reporting health or behavioral concerns to supervisors
