Director of Business Development

About the Role

TESIM Electric is hiring a Director of Business Development to own our relationships with the general contractors building Texas' data center pipeline — JE Dunn, DPR, Turner, Rosendin, Bartlett Cocke, Joeris, Zachry, SpawGlass, and every other GC that matters. Your job is to get TESIM on every short list in the state.

You'll be the front door for new work. You'll live at bid walks, precon meetings, and executive lunches. You'll own the pipeline, own the pursuit strategy, and own the numbers that show whether we're winning.

What You'll Own

• The GC relationship map — who we know, what they're building, and where our next 12 months of pipeline comes from.
• Pursuit strategy: which jobs we chase, which we walk away from, why.
• Executive-level relationships with VP/Director of Precon, Chief Estimators, Project Directors, and senior GC leadership.
• Working with our estimating team to convert opportunities into won work.
• Representing TESIM at industry events, conferences, and target-account meetings.
• The scoreboard: qualified pipeline, meetings-per-week, bids submitted, win rate, revenue booked.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years in electrical construction business development, preconstruction, or a GC-facing role.
• An existing network among Texas GCs, developers, or hyperscale/enterprise data center owners.
• Track record of moving companies onto GC short lists and winning meaningful work.
• Executive presence — comfortable in the room with senior GC and owner leadership.
• Willingness to live in your calendar and on the road.

Preferred Experience

• Direct data center or mission-critical experience.
• Background originally from the GC or electrical estimating side.
• Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, or related.

Compensation

$65–$105/hr DOE. This is a seat where the ceiling is defined by what you build.
