Description
American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a Level III Trauma acute care hospital, requiring ARRT (CT) certification and 1+ year of experience.
Details
- Level III Trauma, acute care hospital setting
- CT department serving inpatient, outpatient (Friday only), ER, and scheduled interventional cases (Friday only)
- Patient population ranges from newborn through geriatric
- Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with established protocols
- Uses PACS system
- Epic charting preferred
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, Friday-Sunday from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- On-call rotation Monday-Thursday, 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM, approximately every 4-5 weeks
- No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- ARRT (CT) certification required
- SCRQSA (CT) certification required
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology or completion of a student clinical rotation with ARRT certification by end of rotation
- State license required if applicable, must be in hand at time of start (pending licenses not accepted)
- Must provide own radiation badge
- Skilled in starting peripheral IVs
- Experience with contrast media preparation and administration
- Experience performing biopsies
- Proficiency with PACS system
Additional Information
- Reports to the CT Manager and Director of Radiology
- Performs CT exams under general supervision across a wide patient age range
- May assist with coverage during traumas or when short-staffed
- Scrub color: teal top and black bottom
- No parking costs
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis within 60 miles of the facility
- Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
