Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience and ARRT certification for a Level III trauma center's cardiac cath lab, EP, and IR department.
Details
- Short-term acute care, Level III trauma center with 252 staffed beds
- Department covers Cath Lab, EP, and Interventional Radiology with primary focus in Cath Lab and EP
- Procedures include LHC/RHC, PCI, STEMI response, temporary pacer, IABP insertion, Swan-Ganz catheterization, EP implants, ablations, and peripheral angiography
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Uses Epic for charting
- Fluoroscopy equipment from Philips and Siemens, along with ultrasound and PACS systems
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Call required every 5 days, including weekends
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required in specialty
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- ARRT certification required (license required if applicable)
- CCI RCIS, CCI CVI, or CVI certification required (only one needed)
- Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
- Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Skilled in accurate monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site prep, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Proficient in scrubbing and maintaining sterile field
- One reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include room circulating, scrubbing, hemodynamic monitoring, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, and permanent/temporary pacemaker procedures
- Assist with EP studies including arrhythmia induction, cardiac ablation, and AICD/pacemaker insertion and programming
- Maintain equipment and supply inventory and adhere to infection control and sterile technique protocols
- Scrubs provided
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required with exemptions for religious or medical reasons only
- Local candidates not accepted if within 75 miles of the facility
- Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved
- First-time travelers may be considered if candidate has experience at a large trauma center
