WBHS Student Program - Workplace Safety Culture Summer 202 6
Student Program Format:
This student program will follow a n in-person model. Students will be based at our Stellantis Headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI . Students are expected to work 24 hours per week, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Candidates who are selected for the program will work with their manager to determine a consistent weekly work schedule where candidates fulfill the 24-hour requirement, while balancing their class schedule. Duri ng the summer months, student employees may potentially work 40 hours per week. This determination will be at management’s discretion. Applications are accepted year-round, and s tudent program cohorts start on a quarterly b a sis in January, April, June , and September, a nd students are intended to stay in the program until graduation .

Department Details:
The Well b eing Health and Safety (WBHS) , Workplace Safety Culture student employee will support the assessment and improvement of workplace safety culture within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role will focus on understanding employee perceptions , behaviors, and leadership influences related to safety.
The student will conduct research, gather and analyze data, and provide actionable insights to help strengthen a proactive and sustainable safety culture. By the end of the program , the successful candidate will deliver a comprehensive evaluation of the current safety culture along with evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design and execution of safety culture assessments (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups)
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, gaps, and risk factors influencing safety behaviors
- Observe workplace practices within manufacturing operations to understand cultural drivers of safety performance
- Partner with Health & Safety and operational leaders to gather insights and validate findings
- Review existing safety programs, policies, and engagement initiatives for effectiveness
- Benchmark best practices in safety culture from similar industries
- Assist in developing strategies to enhance psychological safety, leadership engagement, and employee accountability
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership stakeholders
- Contribute to change management and communication strategies related to safety improvements
Learning Outcomes / Internship Deliverables
By the end of the program , the student will:
- Deliver a comprehensive assessment of the current workplace safety culture
- Identify key behavioral and organizational drivers impacting safety performance
- Provide actionable, evidence-based recommendations to strengthen safety culture
- Present findings and proposed improvement strategies to leadership
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Organizational Psychology
- Ability to work 24 hours per week, year-round
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology
- Strong leadership characteristics
- Strong interest in manufacturing and manufacturing operations in the automotive industry
- Strong interpersonal skills Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Previous internship with an Automotive manufacturer
