Job Title: Construction Management Support Specialist

Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Job Type: Full-time, Contract
Duration: Base Period (September 2026 – May 2027) plus 4 Option Years


Role Overview: As a Construction Management Support specialist, you will provide technical expertise to the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron (50 CES) throughout the full lifecycle of construction projects. Your role ensures that large-scale renovations and new construction are executed in strict compliance with contract specifications, safety standards, and engineering principles.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Lifecycle Management: Lead the coordination of projects from design through field surveying and final closeout to ensure delivery aligns with mission needs and engineering standards.
  • Requirement Development: Prepare comprehensive project packages, including functional needs, schedule milestones, and Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
  • Surveillance & Oversight: Perform on-site management of large, multi-discipline projects to verify contractor compliance and resolve technical construction problems in the field.
  • Change & Submittal Review: Independently analyze technical submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings; investigate the need for contract change orders and develop technical justifications for modifications.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain traceable, auditable records using engineering automation software (ACES, AutoCAD, MS Project) including inspection logs and progress reports.


Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Must possess a degree in Construction Management or Construction Technology AND have at least 5 years of construction or contract-related experience.
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering concepts sufficient to interpret complex plans and construction practices.
  • Compliance & Software: Thorough understanding of federal/state codes and safety regulations (AFOSH); proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and ACES.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze engineering drawings and material submittals to ensure they meet functional and constructability standards.


Security & Compliance

  • Access: Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check w/Inquiries (NACI) for unescorted entry to restricted military areas.
  • Status: Must have legal United States residency and work authorization status
