CNC CAD Programmer - SigmaNEST

Location: Northwest Houston (77066)
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift
Pay: $23/hr

We are hiring a CNC CAD Programmer with hands-on SigmaNEST experience to support a busy metal fabrication operation. This person will create production-ready CAD files, develop CNC programs, optimize nesting, and help ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Use SigmaNEST to nest parts, generate CNC programs, and maximize material utilization.
• Import and review customer DXF files.
• Program CNC laser, plasma, waterjet, punch, router, or other fabrication equipment.
• Generate and verify NC files, tooling information, cut paths, and setup documentation.
• Review prints, material types, quantities, tolerances, and special job requirements before releasing work to production.
• Maintain accurate job files, drawing revisions, and programming documentation.

Qualifications

• Prior CNC CAD/CAM programming experience in a metal fabrication environment.
• Required: Working knowledge of SigmaNEST software, including nesting and NC program generation.
• Experience with CNC laser, plasma, waterjet, punch press, or similar fabrication equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, customer drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and weld symbols.
• Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting ability, and communication skills.
• Technical training in CAD/CAM, manufacturing, or machining is a plus.
