Location: Saint Paul, MN 55117
Employment Type: Full-Time | 2-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $16.00–$18.75/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Role Overview:
BEPC is seeking a dependable Operator I to support our client's manufacturing operations in Saint Paul, MN. This hands-on production position is responsible for assembling, repairing, testing, and packaging high-quality medical devices and capital equipment, including equipment similar to computers and generators. This position works in an ESD-controlled manufacturing environment and is not a clean room. Candidates should be comfortable following standardized manufacturing procedures, maintaining detailed production and quality documentation, handling small components, and working in a regulated environment.
Important: Candidates must be able to commit to a full 40-hour workweek with no absences during the first 30 days. Overtime is an important part of this position and may vary from week to week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, repair, test, and/or package medical devices and capital equipment according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Perform routine manufacturing assignments under close supervision and follow standardized work instructions.
- Read, understand, and accurately follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Maintain accurate production, traveler, traceability, and quality documentation.
- Ensure manufacturing cell documentation and operating procedures remain accurate and current.
- Use electronic data collection systems, computer software, and manufacturing systems to record and track production activities.
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use required safety devices and equipment.
- Handle and maneuver small components and parts accurately.
- Prioritize work based on production sequencing, timing, precedence, and importance.
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to improve production efficiency, quality, and profitability.
- Apply a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Work with manufacturing supervisors and managers to support individual goals and cell performance metrics.
- Support Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Clearly communicate manufacturing issues, ideas, and solutions to different levels of management.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with internal teams, customers, and facility visitors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience following established manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Medical device manufacturing or other regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
- ERP system experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow detailed written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Ability to use electronic data collection systems and computer software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Ability to safely handle and maneuver small components and parts.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and make appropriate decisions with minimal supervision when required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to meet the position's attendance, schedule, and overtime requirements.
Production Environment & Dress Requirements:
Candidates must follow manufacturing-area clothing and contamination-control standards during the onsite interview/tour and while working in the production environment.
- Clothing must be clean, tightly woven, non-shedding, and free from frayed hems, loose threads, tassels, fringe, glitter, sequins, or other materials that could become dislodged.
- Sweaters, sweater vests, fleece, loose-knit clothing, and other loose-fiber garments are not permitted.
- Loose-fitting clothing may not be worn around machinery or soldering/brazing equipment.
- Shoes must fully cover the toes and heels. Sandals, clogs, slippers, open-toe/open-heel shoes, and shoes that expose the toes are not permitted.
- Socks or stockings are required. Shoe heels may not be pointed or higher than two inches.
- The torso, upper arms, and legs must remain covered. Sleeveless tops, cropped shirts, and pants or skirts above the ankle are not permitted.
- Scented personal-use products are not permitted, except deodorant.
- Open or bleeding wounds must be properly covered with a bandage.
- Clothing must be professional and free of offensive content.
- Business-casual attire is expected while meeting all production-area requirements.

- Work Arrangement: 100% onsite
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Overtime: Overtime is expected based on production needs and may vary from week to week.
- Attendance Requirement: Candidates must be able to maintain consistent attendance, including no absences during the first 30 days.
