Job Description
2nd Shift position, 4:00pm-2:30am Monday thru Thursday.
Shift Differential plus $2500 sign on bonus
JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:
May perform a variety of maintenance duties that requires a high degree of technical ability and or are
complex. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, installation, maintenance, and repair
of a variety of production machines/equipment/tools and building maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
MAINTENANCE
· Performs maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment/machine malfunction, including electrical and mechanical issues, which may require dismantling the machine and cleaning, adjusting/repairing/replacing defective parts, and testing the machine to ensure it is running properly.
· Build and install new complex mechanical components on equipment using a welder, mill and lathe.
· Completes structural repairs to equipment.
INSTALLATION AND TROUBLESHOOTS
· Installs, programs, inspects, troubleshoots, and adjusts electrical and mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and related information systems.
· Reviews operator’s manuals and other established guidelines; ensures equipment and information systems are operating within the established guidelines
· Performs basic programming for CNC’s.
· Programs with ladder logic and relay logic; operates PLCs, RTUs, and associated inputs/outputs; operates VFDs.
· Ensures proper operation of HMI systems; identifies and troubleshoots issues pertaining to the HMI systems.
· Initiates work orders pertaining to equipment; ensures work orders are accurate and complete; performs record-keeping functions as required.
· Serves as a liaison to manufacturers, contractors, and other internal or external parties with respect to equipment, instruments, and related systems. Ensures compliance with the National Electrical Code and other applicable laws, codes, or regulations.
· Checks job sites for potential hazards; understands and adheres to all applicable safety rules, regulations, practices, or procedures.
· Organizes work assignments and sets priorities.
· Performs and/or assists with work on all equipment as necessary. Responds to emergency callouts.
BUILDING MAINTENANCE
· Performs building maintenance to include, but not limited to, plumbing, mechanical and electrical issues, dust collector, machine, equipment and furniture installation, remodeling, light bulb replacement, roofing issues, etc.
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
· Perform periodic preventive maintenance and inspection checks on equipment, machine tools, and building equipment including but not limited to, forklifts, production and CNC machines, saws, hand tools, measuring devices, extension cords, fire extinguishers, cranes, alarms, exit lights, sprinkler system, dust collector, heating and A/C unit belts and filters, etc.
OTHER DUTIES
· May use forklift to move and transport material, machines, equipment, etc
· May handle, transport, and store some hazardous materials to include paint, lubricants, cleaners, oil, gas, etc.
· Trained on the use and storage of hazardous materials.
· Follow company policies and manufacturing processes including safety regulations, quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation requirements.
· Responsible for transactional accuracy on the assigned material movement, and verification process of the production scheduling system.
· Provide feedback on continuous improvement ideas to improve products, processes, standards, etc.
· May be rotationally on call
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: 2-year tech degree, and/or 5 years of previous experience or a combination.
Experience and/or Training: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, machining, welding, electrical, plumbing, and building maintenance experience is preferred. Ability to use all types of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices. Ability to set up VFD and troubleshoot electrical control and wiring problems. Able to troubleshoot 110, 208, and 480v 1ph and 3ph circuits. Ability to read and interpret documents such as maintenance instructions, manuals, prints, mechanical blueprints, and electrical/pneumatic schematics.
Technology/Equipment: Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, and various other computer software is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours. (Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching)
· Must be able to withstand repetitive movements.
· Must be able to lift 40lbs sporadically unassisted.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
· Due to loud noise and dust levels, hearing and eye protection are required.
· The conditions and materials used may be dirty.
· The warehouse environment may have varied hot and cold temperatures.
· Must be able to tolerate some weather-related heat and/or humidity.
· Must be able to tolerate some paint smells.
