Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity calls for an experienced pharmacist equipped to lead and manage pharmacy operations effectively in a retail environment. The role is based in Sterling, IL, with a Contract to Hire arrangement over a 13-week period. Candidates willing to travel are encouraged to apply as the search for a local professional continues.
Schedule and Location:
- Monday to Friday
- 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
- Sterling, IL (with initial duties in Prophetstown, IL)
- Software system: McKesson Enterprise
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct daily pharmacy operations ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Lead and supervise pharmacy staff, including training pharmacists and technicians.
- Accurately review and verify prescriptions to promote patient safety.
- Manage medication inventory, controlled substances, and maintain comprehensive pharmacy records.
- Develop and uphold policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards within the pharmacy.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues and enhance patient care.
- Maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant workflow throughout the pharmacy.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and clear pharmacist license in Illinois.
- Experience in pharmacy management or as a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC).
