Job Title: Pharmacy Admixture Technician
Locations: Pueblo, CO | Lakewood, CO | Denver Metro Area, CO (Float Position)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (No weekends!)
Position Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Admixture Technicians to join an oncology care team in Colorado. In this role, you will play a critical part in patient care by preparing intravenous and specialty medications in an outpatient oncology setting.
The team currently has three (3) openings across Colorado:
Pueblo Clinic (Fixed Location)
Lakewood Clinic (Fixed Location)
Denver/North Metro Area (Float Position covering regional clinics)
Key Responsibilities
Accurately compound and prepare intravenous (IV) medications, including hazardous/chemotherapy agents, following OSHA, USP, and facility sterility guidelines.
Perform precise dosage calculations using metric and apothecary conversions.
Confirm insurance approvals and manage drug assistance/indigent patient programs prior to admixture.
Maintain compounding areas, sanitizing laminar flow hoods and equipment to ensure strict compliance with quality assurance and sterility standards.
Manage pharmacy inventory: receive, log, order supplies, monitor expiration dates, and assist with labeling and billing.
Conduct weekly controlled substance counts and maintain precise record-keeping.
Update safety documentation, MSDS sheets, and daily temperature logs.
Dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely according to regulatory protocols.
Required Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: 2+ years of pharmacy technician experience.
Technical Skills: Proven hands-on experience with sterile compounding/IV admixture.
Preferred Qualifications
Oncology/Chemotherapy compounding experience strongly preferred.
Active IV Certification.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Colorado State Board of Pharmacy registration.
