This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for a licensed Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant passionate about supporting school-aged children. As an itinerant provider, you’ll have the unique chance to work across multiple sites near Portales, NM, delivering impactful services that help students reach their fullest potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Credentialed as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant (state licensure required)
- Previous experience in educational or pediatric settings preferred
- Familiarity with school-based therapy practices and case management
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability for itinerant travel between sites
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to K-12 students, focusing on improving mobility, gross motor skills, and functional independence
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and develop individualized treatment plans (PTs)
- Manage caseload through thorough documentation, progress tracking, and collaboration with educational teams (PTs)
- Deliver direct therapy as assigned, following prescribed treatment plans (PTAs)
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goal development as needed
