Job Title: Environmental Cleaning Specialist / Industrial Cleaning Technician

Location: Sturgis, MI

Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract with a possibility of extension or conversion

Shift: Day - 07:00am - 3:30pm

Pay: $17/hr

Position Summary

We are seeking a safety-minded, dependable, and detail-oriented Environmental Cleaning Specialist to join our facility maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing rigorous industrial cleaning, decontamination, and sanitization protocols across our production lines, clean environments, and facility support areas.

You will safely handle, prepare, and apply specialized chemical solutions, solvents, and industrial cleaning agents in strict compliance with environmental regulations, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform heavy-duty and detailed industrial cleaning of manufacturing floors, machinery exteriors, workstations, and facility common areas.
• Sanitize and decontaminate specialized production areas, controlled environments, and cleanrooms in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Safely measure, mix, and dilute chemical solutions, solvents, and specialized cleaning agents according to exact manufacturer instructions and chemical safety ratios.
• Follow Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) protocols and reference Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for safe handling, ventilation, and emergency response procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1+ years of industrial cleaning, commercial sanitation, or facility maintenance experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, pharmaceutical, or cleanroom environment.
• Prior experience handling, diluting, and disposing of industrial chemicals, degreasers, or solvents safely.

Skills & Competencies

• Basic understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical dilution ratios, and OSHA / HAZCOM standards.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ability to work independently and manage daily cleaning routes with minimal supervision.
