Job Description
We are looking for a Litigation Paralegal to support a busy legal team in New Mexico. This Contract position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who can manage case materials, coordinate deadlines, and produce high-quality legal documentation in a fast-paced litigation environment. The role calls for strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly while assisting with all phases of active matters.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare, revise, and organize discovery materials, pleadings, and other litigation documents with close attention to accuracy and formatting.
• Establish and maintain case files, ensuring records are current, properly indexed, and easy to retrieve when needed.
• Review written work carefully for grammar, punctuation, consistency, and overall quality before submission or filing.
• Obtain, analyze, summarize, and catalog case-related records, including medical documentation and other supporting materials.
• Track court dates, filing deadlines, and other key milestones to help keep matters progressing on schedule.
• Conduct factual research and limited legal research to support attorneys in case development and strategy.
• Assist with trial readiness by assembling exhibit sets, witness materials, binders, and other essential hearing or trial documents.
• Gather and coordinate case information by identifying relevant witnesses, securing affidavits, and supporting pleading preparation.
• Use legal technology and office software to manage documents, scheduling, and day-to-day litigation support tasks.

• At least 2-5 years of prior litigation paralegal experience in a law firm or similar legal setting.

• Demonstrated experience requesting medical records and preparing detailed medical chronologies or summaries.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders.

• Thorough knowledge of legal terminology as well as New Mexico court rules, filing practices, and procedures.

• Proven ability to support active cases through information gathering, witness coordination, affidavit collection, and related case preparation activities.

• Excellent proofreading, word processing, and document editing skills with a high level of precision.

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with document or case management platforms; experience with tools such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, CompuLaw, ACRIS, or similar systems is a plus.
