Civil Litigation Paralegals perform substantive legal work under the direction of one or more attorneys in the office. A Civil Litigation Paralegal’s primary goal is to support our Civil legal team, which mainly focuses on personal injury and employment law cases in litigation stages by conducting legal research, reviewing/analyzing/summarizing evidence, drafting memos, pleadings, motions, and orders, as well as preparing for hearings and trials.

Compensation:

$45,000 - $60,000 Base Plus Bonus


Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage case details from intake through trial, ensuring seamless communication and organization.

  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, and trials, contributing to successful case outcomes.

  • Draft, review, and file discovery, pleadings, and other legal documents, maintaining accuracy and compliance with court requirements.

  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and provide valuable insights to the legal team.

  • Maintain and update case files, ensuring all documentation is current and easily accessible for team members.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and addressing inquiries to foster trust and transparency.

  • Collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals to develop case strategies and identify potential challenges early on.

  • Communicate with clients, experts, and other parties to provide updates, gather information, and answer basic questions about the status of the case.

  • Lead discovery meetings with clients.

  • Manage and monitor case progress, deadlines, and important timeframes/milestones.

  • Review, analyze, and summarize evidence (such as crash reports, medical records, medical bills, subrogation liens, employment files, workers' compensation files, unemployment compensation files, and other various documents received throughout the pre-litigation and litigation process).

  • Draft documents such as letters, chronologies, summaries, damage calculations, complaints, motions, responses, replies, discovery requests and responses, orders, notices, mediation statements, and other various documents needed throughout the litigation process.


Qualifications:
  • Experience in civil litigation, with a strong understanding of legal procedures and terminology.

  • Ability to draft, review, and manage legal documents with precision and attention to detail.

  • Proven track record of conducting thorough legal research to support case strategies.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage case files and ensure all documents are easily accessible.

  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts, maintaining open lines of communication.

  • Proficiency in using case management systems to maintain accurate records and track deadlines.

  • Ability to prepare and organize exhibits and evidence for court presentations, ensuring readiness for proceedings.

  • It is not required, but it is preferred that a Paralegal have completed a course of study offered by a college or university, especially for Paralegals, and possess a certification as a trained paralegal.
