Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Steel Line Welder to join our production team. This position is responsible for welding steel trailer components while maintaining production efficiency, quality, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will be dependable, able to stay on task, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG welding on steel trailer components and assemblies.
  • Weld components according to work instructions, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Maintain consistent weld quality and production output.
  • Inspect welds and completed components for defects or quality concerns.
  • Read and follow work orders, drawings, and production instructions.
  • Use welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and correctly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Follow all company safety policies and required PPE procedures.
  • Communicate production, quality, or material concerns to the supervisor.
  • Work efficiently to keep the Steel Line moving and prevent production delays.
  • Maintain good attendance and remain focused and on task throughout the workday.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Previous MIG welding experience preferred.
  • Steel welding or fabrication experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing or trailer industry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow basic work instructions.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn and improve welding skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and work in various positions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required.
  • Ability to work around welding fumes, noise, heat, and moving production equipment.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing.
  • Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Job Summary: Weld team members are responsible for welding quality trailer with outstanding service in a safe manner and must be able to manufacture in a fast paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

  • Ensure your own safety by always using designated personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools designed and rated for the task, complying with safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Report to work on time to support production startup and throughput goals.
  • Operate all power tools and machinery on the weld line(s) effectively and respectfully.
  • Read and understand work orders and work instructions.
  • Perform quality checks and product inspections by completing final inspection sheets, as directed by assigned production supervisor.
  • Perform daily inspections on equipment prior to shift startup to ensure the safety of you and your coworkers, as well as the operational effectiveness of equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities in directly job-related experiences.
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination with the ability to safely lift 80 pounds with prolonged periods of standing.
  • Able to work 10 hour shifts with potential overtime.
  • Willing to submit a pre-employment background check.
  • Able to work in a self-directed way to manage multiple demands of time and attention in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
