About the Role:
As a Speech Language Pathologist with Applied Behavior Center for Autism, you will play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Your work will directly impact the quality of life for children and teens with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) between by developing and implementing personalized therapy plans that address their unique needs. You will collaborate closely with families, BCBAs, and occupational therapists to ensure a comprehensive approach to care. This role requires a compassionate and patient-centered approach, emphasizing evidence-based practices to achieve measurable progress. Ultimately, your expertise will empower clients to improve their communication abilities and enhance their social and academic participation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Indiana licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience conducting speech and language assessments and providing therapy services.
- Strong understanding of pediatric speech, language, and swallowing disorders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in educational or clinical health settings.
- Experience working with pediatric learners with ASD
- Experience assessing, selecting, and implementing AAC, including using use of speech-generating devices such as LAMP Words for Life, Proloquo, TouchChat, etc.
- Familiarity with telepractice and remote therapy delivery methods.
- Bilingual abilities or experience working with culturally diverse populations.
- Additional certifications related to specialized therapy techniques or populations.
- Experience with interdisciplinary team collaboration and case management.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations to identify speech, language, and swallowing disorders in pediatric clients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and client goals
- Provide direct therapy services using a variety of techniques tailored to client needs.
- Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
Maintains patient speech therapy records by recording client’s progress within our electronic medical records system.
Records and inputs own billing information of services rendered within electronic schedule and billing software.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and other healthcare providers to support client development.
- Maintain compliance with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with best practices.
