Marine Electrician

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician with a minimum of 5 years of marine/shipyard electrical experience. The Marine Electrician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of electrical systems and equipment aboard commercial and/or naval vessels.
Candidates must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics, troubleshoot electrical systems, and perform work safely and efficiently in a shipyard or marine environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair marine electrical systems and equipment.
  • Install and terminate electrical cables, wiring, panels, controllers, switches, lighting systems, and related equipment.
  • Perform cable pulling, routing, banding, and termination in accordance with applicable specifications.
  • Troubleshoot motors, motor controllers, transformers, distribution panels, circuits, and other shipboard electrical equipment.
  • Use multimeters, megohmmeters (meggers), and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, and work packages.
  • Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and voltage testing as required.
  • Install and repair electrical fixtures, junction boxes, receptacles, switches, and lighting.
  • Identify and correct electrical deficiencies while maintaining compliance with applicable marine and shipyard standards.
  • Work in confined spaces, tanks, machinery spaces, and other shipboard environments as required.
  • Follow all OSHA, shipyard, company, and customer safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Complete assigned work within established quality and production requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent marine/shipyard electrical experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, components, and installation practices.
  • Must be proficient in reading electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Must have experience troubleshooting and repairing shipboard electrical systems.
  • Must be experienced with electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Must understand proper cable installation, termination, and testing procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to meet shipyard/customer access requirements as applicable.
