For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.
NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).
Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.
PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Duration:
This position is funded for up to 480 total hours.
Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in Federal Cultural Resources Compliance OR MA/MS Degree in Archeology with minimum additional experience of 15 year(s) in Federal Cultural Resources Compliance
- Project management, historical architecture, experience with Secretary of Interior?s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
- Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
Enrollee will support Cumberland Island National Seashore compliance activities related to archaeological, historical, and traditional cultural properties. Provide authoritative recommendations on structuring and managing NHPA/CRM compliance work to include: graveyards, seawalls, historic structures, debris removal, trails, etc with particular regard to scopes of work and planning, environment & public comment documents. Assist with the development of Programmatic Agreements with SHPO to define historic preservation, stabilization, and general management and prepare correspondence with State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO). Review of NEPA analysis and other cultural resource related reports prepared by third parties, including NPS contractors. Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Develop and review minimum requirement analysis framework for Wilderness projects.

Other:
- Overnight travel: 1-3 overnight trips may be required
- Air travel anticipated: 1-3 air travel trips, depending on the location of the individual selected
- Health and Safety Considerations: Training will be provided on site by Park Safety Officer
- Required Safety Gear: PPE such as hardhats and construction yellow vests, and possibly a radio
- Safety Gear Use: Provided for site visits
