Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have experience in estimating mechanical projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical projects
- Review project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and materials needed
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop cost-effective solutions
- Source and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare and submit bids to clients within specified deadlines
- Monitor project costs and make adjustments as needed
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project costs
- Participate in project meetings and provide support to project teams as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical estimating
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Familiarity with estimating software and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred but not required
