  • Coating Application: Mix and apply industrial primers, epoxies, polyurethanes, and other specialized protective coating using air, conventional, or plural component spray systems.
  • Blueprint & Spec Interpretation: Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, paint specifications, and Mil-specs to determine required coating thickness ( DFT/WFT) , color and curing processes.
  • Quality Control: Perform routine quality checks, including wet/dry film thickness testing ( using gauges ) and holiday ( adherence/defect ) detection to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain spray guns, pumps, booths, and mixing equipment to ensure optimal performance and a safe working environment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like respirators, and ensure proper handling / disposal of hazardous materials ( solvents, thinners, paints).
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as an industrial painter, preferably within a valve manufacturing, heavy machinery, or aerospace environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial coating materials ( two- part epoxies, zinc primers, urethanes) and their respective mixing ratios/pot life.

  • Detail- Oriented: Ability to achieve uniform coating thickness and recognize defects like runs, sags, or orange peeling.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 LBS, and work while wearing a respirator in a paint booth environment.
  • Certifications ( Preferred ): NACE/AMPP certification or formal vocational training in industrial coating is a significant plus.
  • High School or equivalent education required
