Tool Room Operator

Location: Spring Valley, IL
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Express Employment Professionals of Ottawa & Morris is seeking an experienced CNC/Laser Setup Technician for a manufacturing facility in Spring Valley, IL. This is a great opportunity for a skilled candidate with CNC setup experience and CNC programming knowledge who is looking to grow with a quality-focused company.

Job Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities

• Issue, track, and maintain inventory of tools, gauges, and equipment
• Inspect tools and equipment for wear, damage, or defects
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on tools
• Assemble, disassemble, and prepare tooling for production runs
• Maintain accurate records of tool usage, inventory, and repairs
• Receive and stock incoming tooling, supplies, and equipment
• Coordinate tool calibration and ensure compliance with quality standards
• Operate tool room equipment such as grinders, drill presses, and measuring devices
• Assist production and maintenance teams with tooling needs
• Ensure proper storage and organization of all tools and equipment
• Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, tool room, or maintenance experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Familiarity with hand tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic computer and inventory tracking experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
