Job Description
The Patient Care Tech plays a vital role in supporting the healthcare team by providing direct care and assistance primarily to geriatric patients. This position involves close collaboration with nurses to ensure patient comfort, safety, and efficient care delivery during standard 8-hour shifts.
13 Week Contract with the option to extend
Night 5x8-Hour (22:00 - 06:30) - Sunday - Thursday
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient condition and report changes promptly
- Assist nurses with daily care activities and procedures
- Provide basic patient care, including hygiene and mobility support
- Accurately document patient information and care provided
- Transport patients safely within the facility
- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team
- Adhere to safety standards and compliance guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in patient care
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficient in vital signs measurement and patient assistance
- Knowledge of medical terminology and infection control procedures
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
