Sales Support Representative

A leader in the industrial manufacturing space is hiring for an Inside Technical Sales / Customer Service professional to support customers, distributors, and internal sales teams. This position serves as a key point of contact for customer inquiries, quotations, purchase orders, order updates, and product availability. The ideal candidate will combine strong customer service skills with mechanical aptitude and the ability to coordinate effectively across sales, production, accounting, and other internal departments.

Key Responsibilities
-Respond to customer requests for pricing, quotations, purchase orders, order changes, cancellations, lead times, and other order-related information.
-Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers through regular communication and responsive service.
-Prepare pricing quotations for standard products and coordinate internally to obtain pricing for non-standard or custom requests.
-Enter, update, and retrieve customer, inventory, and purchase-order information within company systems.
-Follow up on outstanding inquiries, quotations, and customer requests to help move opportunities and orders forward.
-Support sales representatives and customers throughout assigned territories across the United States.
-Coordinate with internal departments regarding customer credit status, rush orders, inventory availability, scheduling, and delivery requirements.
-Work with distributors and internal resources to locate products and provide customers with accurate availability and delivery information.
-Maintain organized records of active orders, including scheduling updates, shipment changes, credit adjustments, and other account activity.
-Prepare and route documentation required for customer credits, debits, returns, invoices, and related accounting transactions.
-Serve as a backup for general incoming telephone calls when needed.
-Maintain positive customer relationships by communicating professionally and resolving issues with tact, urgency, and resourcefulness.
-Collaborate with production, manufacturing, sales, accounting, and other departments to ensure customer needs are handled efficiently.
-Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Key Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical, business, or sales training is preferred.
-At least one year of related experience in inside sales, customer service, marketing, or a similar customer-facing role.
-Previous experience working with industrial products, components, parts, or technical terminology is strongly preferred.
-Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to develop an understanding of product applications and industry-specific components.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
-Comfortable working with computer-based order entry, inventory, and customer information systems.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, sales representatives, and internal departments.
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer requests, orders, and follow-up activities simultaneously.
-Detail-oriented approach to entering and maintaining accurate pricing, order, customer, and shipment information.
-Ability to exercise sound judgment while working within established procedures and guidelines.
-Customer-focused mindset with a demonstrated ability to build rapport and provide responsive service.
