Job Description

FINANCIAL ANALYST

HOLLISTER, CA

CONTRACT TO HIRE

$45HR - $55HR

Overview

We're looking for a Senior Program Financial Analyst to be an active, visible business partner — not a back-office accountant. This is not a "locked in your cube" role. The ideal candidate gets up, walks the floor, understands how the product is manufactured (literally understanding manufacturing well enough to know how the shoes you're wearing were made), and builds relationships with program managers and buyers across the business. Aerospace & Defense industry background is a strong fit.

We want someone senior, curious, and analytically sharp — someone who drives the business rather than simply reporting on it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage program financials "cradle to grave," from budget setting through production
  • Set budgets, understand underlying assumptions, load budgets, and track through to execution
  • Analyze day-to-day program performance: labor, materials, gross margin — are we hitting targets, and why or why not
  • Lead and/or support program reviews, including reviews required for SOX compliance
  • Get out of your seat: build relationships with program managers and buyers; manage 30-50 programs, touching each at least once annually
  • Conduct proactive planning — identify issues and present actionable plans to address them
  • Support close process on a 4-4-5 accounting schedule, including working part of the last Saturday of each quarter for quarter close
  • Use data visualization and reporting tools to present manufacturing/program performance to stakeholders

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a similar field
  • 3-5 years of FP&A or financial analyst experience
  • US Citizenship required

Key Competencies

  • Willingness to Dig In: Proactive and ready to engage deeply with financial data, programs, and cross-functional challenges
  • Tolerance of Ambiguity: Ability to work effectively when situations are not clearly defined
  • Prior FP&A Experience: Previous financial planning and analysis experience is required
  • Data Analysis Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, ideally with SQL and Power BI, or strong systems aptitude
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in reporting, forecasting, and planning
  • Accountability: Consistently meeting deadlines and following through on commitments
  • Proactivity in Business Partnership: Taking initiative in communication with program teams, factory managers, and functional leaders
  • Strong critical thinking, curiosity, and ability to influence others
  • Demonstrated learning capacity and adaptability

Tools & Systems

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Power BI
  • SQL experience preferred
  • Experience with (or ability to quickly adapt to) Oracle, as the organization is currently migrating systems
