accountant/tax preparer

We are seeking a dedicated accountant/tax preparer to join our team either full or part-time, primarily during the tax season with 20-30+ hours weekly. This role involves independent work mostly based in the office, with opportunities for year-round employment at reduced hours outside the tax season. The ideal candidate will have experience in tax preparation along with bookkeeping and payroll, and will utilize custom or proprietary software to manage client accounts efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business tax returns accurately and timely
• Maintain detailed bookkeeping records
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• File taxes and related documentation with appropriate agencies
• Organize and maintain financial records and files
• Enter data thoroughly and accurately into proprietary systems

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in accounting and tax preparation
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proficiency in tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll processing
• Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Effective communication abilities
