Job Description
HudMed USA is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Support Specialists to join our team in support of an upcoming Labor & Delivery (L&D) program at our hospital facility in Hackensack, NJ.
In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining hospital safety standards by managing the pickup, transport, decontamination, cleaning, reassembly, and delivery of specialized medical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick-Up & Logging: Report to the designated soiled utility room in the Women’s Health building; log and collect all soiled equipment.
- Safe Transport: Transport soiled equipment from Women’s Health to the dedicated main cleaning room following all hospital safety specifications—utilizing designated service hallways and elevators to keep equipment away from public foot traffic.
- Decontamination & PPE: Don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enter the soiled cleaning room; thoroughly clean, soak, and decontaminate equipment according to protocol.
- Clean Room Assembly: Transfer cleaned equipment to clean transport carts, remove soiled PPE, and transition to the clean/drying room.
- Logging & Delivery: Reassemble equipment, officially log items as cleaned/completed, and deliver fully prepared equipment back to the appropriate clinical units.
Schedule & Hours
- Shift Time: Evening / Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM
- Position Type: Full-Time
- Rotation: Alternating bi-weekly schedule (5 days on / 2 days off one week, 6 days on / 1 day off the following week)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior experience in medical equipment handling, hospital environmental services, or sterile processing support preferred.
- Strong adherence to safety guidelines, sanitation protocol, and infection control procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail for equipment logging.
- Ability to stand, walk, and transport equipment carts throughout the facility for the duration of the shift.
