About the Position

AlliedTravelCareers is working with Towne U.S. LLC to find a qualified Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) in Houghton Lake, Michigan, 48629!

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team for a travel assignment. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will provide high-quality occupational therapy services designed to help patients improve functional abilities, increase independence, and enhance their overall quality of life.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated therapy professional to expand their clinical experience while working in a new healthcare environment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, patient-focused, and committed to providing exceptional, evidence-based care.

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Provide therapeutic activities and interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, coordination, strength, balance, and functional performance
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, or changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Assist patients in developing the skills needed to safely perform daily activities and maximize independence
  • Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, assistive equipment, home exercise programs, and safety strategies
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Participate in care planning and assist with discharge planning as appropriate
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting established rehabilitation goals
  • Adapt quickly to new facilities, teams, documentation systems, and patient populations

Requirements

  • Required: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Required: Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of assignment or ability to obtain
  • Previous clinical experience preferred
  • Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
