Shift: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 5:00 AM–1:30 PM PST


Role Overview


BEPC is seeking a safety-focused and dependable Chemical Manufacturing Operations Technician to join our client's chemical manufacturing operation in Carlsbad, California.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in chemical handling, manufacturing, production, equipment operations, or process environments who wants to build their career in a high-tech specialty chemical manufacturing setting.

In this role, you will support the preparation of ultra-pure chemistries by receiving, decontaminating, rebuilding, inspecting, and filling specialized vessels. You'll work with chemicals including acids, acetone, and isopropyl alcohol (IPA) while following strict safety, quality, documentation, and PPE requirements.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable handling chemicals, committed to safety, and able to perform hands-on manufacturing work in a fast-paced environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and automated vessel decontamination processes.
  • Package and fill vessels with ultra-pure chemical products according to established procedures.
  • Perform acid washing of stainless-steel and quartz vessels.
  • Receive, prepare, rebuild, and process vessels used in chemical manufacturing operations.
  • Perform hazardous waste consolidation according to established safety procedures.
  • Handle chemicals and solvents, including acids, acetone, and IPA, using required PPE and safe chemical-handling practices.
  • Use drawings, work instructions, and procedures to correctly assemble vessels.
  • Inspect vessels to ensure quality and manufacturing requirements are met.
  • Review production documentation for accuracy, correctness, and completeness.
  • Perform accurate manufacturing and production data entry.
  • Assist with unloading trucks and receiving materials as required.
  • Support Engineering with troubleshooting manufacturing systems and equipment issues.
  • Use hand tools safely and effectively during assembly and manufacturing activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and quality-focused manufacturing environment.
  • Follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS), written work instructions, and established safety requirements.
  • Support production goals while maintaining a strong focus on quality and operational excellence.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to safely work around chemicals and solvents.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform hands-on manufacturing and equipment-related tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work the required Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM schedule.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous chemical handling or chemical manufacturing experience.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience reading and understanding Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Experience with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and SharePoint.
  • SAP experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience using LIMS or similar laboratory/manufacturing information systems.
  • Experience with equipment or manufacturing process troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience assembling equipment using drawings or work instructions.


Physical & Safety Requirements

This is a hands-on chemical manufacturing position. Candidates must be comfortable working in an environment where strict PPE and safety procedures are required.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying of approximately 25–35 pounds may be required.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying of approximately 36–50 pounds may be required.
  • Must be willing and able to work with various solvents and chemicals.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including a full-face air-purifying respirator, when necessary.
  • Candidates must be able to meet facial-hair requirements necessary to achieve a proper respirator seal.
  • A pre-placement Fit for Duty Evaluation is required for this assignment.
  • Must consistently follow chemical handling, hazardous waste, PPE, quality, and workplace safety procedures.
