THE POSITION

Become a County Casework Supervisor with Washington County Children and Youth and help guide positive change in the lives of children and families. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

County Casework Supervisors guide daily operations, mentor staff, and ensure that children and families receive timely and effective services. The role focuses on leadership, coordination, and oversight of casework activities. As a County Casework Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

  • Casework Oversight: Coordinate and review casework activities to support consistent service delivery
  • Staff Supervision: Direct work assignments, provide guidance, and ensure compliance with agency standards
  • Court Preparation: Review documents, prepare reports, and assist with required filings and hearings
  • Training Support: Help caseworkers build skills through coaching, workshops, and performance review input
  • Interagency Coordination: Collaborate with partner agencies to support child and family services
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure practices align with laws, regulations, and agency procedures

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position includes working evening and weekend hours, as well as, performing on-call duties.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
