Key Qualifications:

• Current, valid School Social Worker licensure/certification for Michigan
• Previous experience working in school-based settings strongly preferred
• Skilled in conducting Individualized Educational Planning Team (IEPT) meetings and implementing ongoing student strategy reviews
• Completion of Crisis Intervention and Prevention training, with demonstrated success in de-escalation techniques
• Confident in Medicaid documentation and billing practices for school-based services
• Strong communication, collaboration, and case management abilities
• Adaptability to work sensitively with high-needs student populations

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead and participate in IEPT meetings to develop, review, and update student support plans
• Conduct ongoing evaluations of intervention strategies to optimize each student’s progress
• Provide crisis intervention while promoting a safe, supportive school climate
• Liaise closely with educators, families, and school staff to ensure students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally
• Accurately document and bill for all eligible social work services rendered through county Medicaid
• Champion the needs of diverse learners and foster inclusive, positive interactions
