Key Qualifications:

  • Valid licensure as a School Social Worker in Michigan.
  • Experience working in an educational setting, preferably at elementary level.
  • Proficiency in conducting Individualized Educational Planning Team (IEPT) meetings.
  • Completion of Crisis Intervention and Prevention training, with the ability to implement de-escalation strategies.
  • Capable of billing for service provision through county Medicaid systems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate IEPT meetings, supporting ongoing assessment of student strategies and needs.
  • Use advanced crisis intervention and prevention techniques to manage and support students facing emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Provide expert consultation to school staff and families, enhancing outcomes for at-risk students.
  • Manage documentation, including Medicaid billing and student records, with accuracy and confidentiality.
