Paralegal

A boutique litigation law firm in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support its insurance defense litigation docket. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation support experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Provide comprehensive paralegal support for insurance defense litigation matters.

• Assist attorneys with case preparation from initial file opening through resolution and trial.

• Prepare and organize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation documents.

• Assist with discovery, including organizing documents, preparing discovery materials, and tracking responses and deadlines.

• Assist attorneys with depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.

• Conduct legal and factual research as requested by attorneys.

• Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, evidence, and litigation documents.

• Maintain case calendars and monitor important deadlines and procedural requirements.

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties as directed by attorneys.

• Assist with settlement preparation and other case-related administrative and litigation tasks.

• Support attorneys with billing and documentation in accordance with insurance defense guidelines.

• Collaborate with attorneys and other legal professionals to ensure matters are handled efficiently.

• 3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in litigation.

• Experience supporting insurance defense matters strongly preferred.

• Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and case management.

• Experience with discovery, pleadings, motions, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation.

• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines independently.

• Proficiency with standard legal technology and case-management/document-management systems.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, litigation-focused environment.

• Experience with insurance defense billing guidelines is a plus.
