Job Description
Join our team as a Welder-Fabricator in a large structural steel fabrication shop. With over 40 years of experience, we operate an 80,000 sq. ft. facility capable of producing 20,000 tons of steel annually. Our projects span commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, retail, theme parks, and more across the U.S. This hands-on welding role involves building and assembling steel parts for major construction projects using advanced technology and equipment.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to understand project specifications.
- Measure and fit pieces together accurately before welding.
- Execute safe and precise welding of beams, columns, stairs, railings, and platforms.
- Collaborate with fitters, machine operators, and inspectors to ensure quality.
- Perform layout, torch cutting, grinding, and tack welding.
- Operate overhead cranes and other equipment as required.
- Ensure welds pass visual inspection and adhere to standards like AISC and AWS.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing Initiatives and follow work instructions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company policies.
- Proficient in reading shop drawings and weld symbols.
- Experience with MIG and flux-core welding techniques.
- Ability to maintain weld consistency and avoid defects.
- Strong quality awareness and ability to spot and fix issues promptly.
- Comfortable using technology such as iPads for workflow management.
- Experience in fabrication and structural steel work is a plus.
- Ability to perform a MIG steel weld test per AWS code requirements.
- Familiarity with operating overhead cranes safely.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as workload demands.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based on-site at our fabrication facility. Expect to work in a collaborative environment where everyone knows each other, with no remote or field work. The shop is equipped with automated CNC equipment, 3D modeling tools, barcode tracking, overhead cranes, and modern welding/fit-up stations.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
