Social Worker in Detroit, MI

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Licensed social worker with experience in school-based services
• Demonstrated skill leading IEPT meetings and shaping action plans for student success
• Completion of Crisis Intervention and Prevention training, with a proven ability to apply de-escalation techniques
• Confident working within high-needs or diverse student populations
• Familiarity with billing for services through county Medicaid systems
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate IEPT meetings and participate in continuous strategy review for student needs
• Implement crisis intervention techniques as needed to ensure student and staff safety
• Deliver comprehensive social work services to students and families
• Document and bill applicable services through the county Medicaid process
• Collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and external partners to promote student well-being and engagement
