Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial direction of our manufacturing business in Auburn, Maine. This executive will shape strategy while maintaining strong oversight of accounting, reporting, cash management, and operational performance across a capital-intensive environment. The role requires a practical leader who can convert financial analysis into smarter pricing, stronger working capital discipline, and sustainable growth. As a key member of the leadership team, this person will help guide decisions that improve profitability, asset utilization, and long-term value.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with executive leadership to develop financial strategies, operating plans, and performance targets that support company objectives and profitable expansion.
• Direct pricing and margin analysis across product and service lines, using financial insight to improve customer profitability and support informed commercial decisions.
• Oversee inventory controls and asset accountability for equipment, cylinders, and related resources to strengthen valuation accuracy, reduce loss, and improve utilization.
• Provide clear financial visibility across multiple locations by building consistent branch and regional reporting on profitability, service costs, and operating trends.
• Lead all core accounting activities, including close processes, financial statement preparation, cost accounting, compliance, and maintenance of strong internal controls.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, variance reviews, and KPI reporting to give leadership timely insight into financial performance and key business drivers.
• Guide treasury and working capital strategy by overseeing cash flow, banking relationships, debt obligations, and capital investment planning for facilities, fleet, and equipment.
• Supervise tax, audit, insurance, and regulatory compliance matters, while identifying and addressing financial and operational risks associated with a manufacturing environment.
• Build and develop a high-performing finance and accounting organization through mentoring, accountability, and continuous improvement of team capabilities.
• Assess acquisition and investment opportunities through financial modeling, due diligence, and integration planning to support both strategic growth and operational value creation.• Proven executive finance leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution, or another asset-intensive operating environment.
• Strong background in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement.
• Demonstrated expertise in cash flow management, working capital optimization, and capital allocation.
• Experience establishing KPI dashboards and management reporting that support operational and financial decision-making.
• Knowledge of accounting operations, internal controls, financial reporting, and cost accounting principles.
• Ability to manage banking relationships, debt structures, and broader treasury activities.
• Skilled at partnering with senior leaders to translate financial data into business strategy and actionable recommendations.
• Industry experience in manufacturing or the gas sector is strongly preferred.
