Two openings are available to support learners in social communications classrooms focused on Autism (AU) eligibility, providing a meaningful educational experience in a supportive setting.

Details of the Roles:

• ASAP start through May 28th for one position
• Full academic year position at an elementary level (8am-4pm)
• Small classroom setting with up to 6 students, supported by two dedicated paraprofessionals
• Students primarily non-verbal or limited in speech; supportive environment for addressing behavioral needs
• Additional six-week maternity leave coverage starting September, serving a similar classroom population

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid licensure as a Special Education Teacher or Intervention Specialist
• Experience with social communications classrooms and Autism Spectrum Disorder (AU) preferred
• Ability to support students with behavioral needs, non-verbal communication, and differentiated instruction
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
• Commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive learning environment

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to support student learning and behavior management
• Foster communication, social, and adaptive skills through structured routines
• Maintain accurate documentation and regularly track progress towards IEP goals
• Communicate routinely with families and multidisciplinary team members
