Medical Biller – Hospital Billing & Revenue Cycle

Location: Colfax, WA
Pay: $25.00–$35.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Are you detail-oriented, comfortable working with computers, and interested in building or continuing a career in medical billing and healthcare revenue cycle? We are seeking a Medical Biller to join a hospital Revenue Cycle team in Colfax, WA.

This position supports hospital billing, insurance claims, accounts receivable, and payer follow-up while working with patients, insurance companies, and internal healthcare teams. Previous healthcare billing experience is preferred, and Epic experience is highly desirable.

What You'll Do

• Assist with preparing, reviewing, and submitting hospital and professional insurance claims
• Follow up on outstanding claims and review claim status through payer portals and internal systems
• Research insurance denials involving eligibility, authorization, coordination of benefits, and billing errors
• Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing, insurance coverage, payment options, and financial responsibility
• Utilize Epic work queues to document account activity, claim status, and follow-up actions
• Maintain accurate account documentation while following HIPAA, payer requirements, billing regulations, and hospital procedures

What We're Looking ForRequired

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Willingness and ability to learn hospital billing processes

Preferred

• Epic experience
• Previous medical billing, hospital billing, or healthcare experience
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with electronic medical record systems
• Coursework in medical billing or healthcare administration
• Exposure to insurance claims, denials, accounts receivable, or payer follow-up
