Position Overview
Motas is hiring full-time Secure Transport Drivers to transport cannabis products, payments, and related documents between licensed marijuana facilities throughout Michigan.
Drivers will operate 26’ box trucks, cargo vans, smaller box trucks, or other company vehicles depending on route needs, vehicle availability, and business volume.
This is not a simple package delivery job. Drivers are responsible for safe driving, secure product handling, accurate paperwork, customer service, payment handling, and clear communication with dispatch and management. Drivers represent Motas at customer facilities and are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.

Schedule Expectations
Drivers are expected to work a minimum of 4 days per week and may be scheduled 4–5 days per week based on availability, route volume, and company needs. This position typically averages approximately 35–50+ hours per week. If you love hours, this job may be a strong fit.
Start times are staggered in the morning and vary based on the assigned route. Drivers do not have a guaranteed end time. Once scheduled, drivers are expected to be available to complete the full route, which may include 8–12+ hour shifts depending on the day’s workload, route changes, customer needs, weather, traffic, or other operational factors.
Reliable, hard-working drivers may have substantial overtime opportunities depending on business needs and route volume.
Drivers must be able to work required business days surrounding holidays and during peak business periods. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday availability is required.
Job DutiesDrivers are responsible for safely and professionally completing assigned routes from start to finish. This includes:
- Operating company cargo vans, 26’ box trucks, and other assigned company vehicles.
- Completing pre-trip vehicle inspections and reporting vehicle or safety concerns.
- Driving safely in all seasons, including rain, snow, winter weather, traffic, and long-distance routes.
- Following daily route assignments, manifests, route summaries, and dispatch instructions.
- Communicating with dispatch throughout the day and reporting delays, route issues, customer issues, or discrepancies.
- Loading, unloading, counting, labeling, staging, and securing customer orders.
- Verifying key delivery and pickup details, including unit counts, unit types, labels, origin/destination information, license numbers, manifests, and related paperwork.
- Collecting and securing payments, checks, cash deposits, payment bags, and required payment documents when assigned.
- Completing and returning required route paperwork accurately.
- Working professionally with customers at licensed facilities.
- Working as part of a two-person driver team and helping verify that route duties are completed correctly.
This position requires frequent physical activity throughout the workday, including loading and unloading vehicles, moving boxes, bins, bags, and other shipping units, and carrying product through customer facilities.
Applicants must be able to:
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Carry, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, kneel, and lower loads.
- Carry loaded containers through narrow walkways, loading areas, and up and down stairs.
- Enter and exit cargo vans and box trucks repeatedly throughout the day.
- Load and unload cargo from both vans and larger box trucks.
- Work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must have a valid State of Michigan Chauffeur License.
- Experience operating 26’ box trucks is preferred
- Must be willing and able to operate cargo vans, 26’ box trucks, and other assigned company vehicles.
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle record review.
- Must generally have a clean driving record, including no recent points, serious violations, preventable collisions, suspensions, or disqualifying driving history.
- Must be able to pass required background check clearance.
- Must have no felony convictions that would disqualify the applicant from working in the cannabis industry.
- Must be able to work long and variable shifts.
- Must be able to work in all seasons and weather conditions.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must have good customer service skills.
- Must be reliable, professional, positive, and detail-oriented.

The training rate is $20.00 per hour. After successful completion of the training and qualification process, the rate increases to $22.00 per hour. The training period is generally 90 days, but qualification depends on performance, safety, reliability, and ability to perform the duties of the position.
