McKenney Home Care is hiring weekend Caregivers, HHAs, and CNAs to support clients in Sarasota and Charlotte County through our Venice office. This position is a great fit for dependable caregivers who are looking for weekend hours and enjoy providing one-on-one care in a client’s home.

About the Role
Our weekend caregivers help clients remain safe, comfortable, and supported at home. Care may include personal care, companionship, mobility support, meal preparation, dementia support, light housekeeping, and other non-medical assistance based on the client’s care plan.

Weekend Availability
We are currently seeking caregivers with Saturday and/or Sunday availability.

Weekend shifts may include:
Short morning or evening visits
4–6 hour shifts
Extended day shifts
Overnight shifts
12-hour day or overnight shifts
Private-duty schedules are based on client needs, caregiver availability, location, and experience. Hours are not guaranteed.

What You’ll Do
Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal care.
Provide companionship and help clients feel respected, comfortable, and supported.
Assist with safe transfers, walking, mobility, and fall prevention.
Support clients with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or memory care needs.
Prepare meals and encourage hydration.
Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and keeping the home safe and organized.
Provide medication reminders only; no medication administration.
Follow the client care plan and report changes or concerns to the office team.
Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
Communicate professionally with clients, families, caregivers, and office staff.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Hands-on CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
• TB test within the last 6 months or chest X-ray within the last 5 years
• Level 2 AHCA background screening, or willingness to complete https://info.flclearinghouse.com
• Strong hands-on care skills and good judgment in a home setting
• Professional communication, attention to detail, and dependable attendance
• Ability to provide consistent, compassionate care to clients and families
