Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support structural MIG welding operations in a high-volume industrial manufacturing plant. Working directly with welding crews and inspecting structural welds to ensure quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural MIG welds for quality, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
• Spend the majority of the day on the production floor interacting with welding pits and operators.
• Identify weld defects and work with welders and supervisors to correct issues.
• Interpret welding procedures, blueprints, and inspection requirements.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
• Support weld quality improvements and help maintain consistent welding standards.
• Perform visual inspections and other required testing methods.

Qualifications

• Current CWI certification required.
• Experience inspecting structural MIG welding preferred.
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing or steel fabrication environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and welding procedures.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• NDT Level I certification preferred, but not required.
