Account Manager
Location: Richardson, TX (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Position Overview
HumCap's client in the industrial distribution/packaging industry is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Account Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of customer accounts. This role is responsible for managing customer orders from quote through delivery, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the order lifecycle.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment, enjoys building relationships, and excels at balancing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned customer accounts
  • Receive, process, and track customer orders from initial request through delivery
  • Prepare and update quotations as needed
  • Enter and maintain accurate sales orders within the ERP system
  • Monitor order status and proactively communicate updates to customers
  • Coordinate closely with production, shipping, engineering, and operations teams to ensure on-time delivery
  • Troubleshoot order, production, or delivery issues and provide timely resolution
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for inquiries, order updates, and service-related requests
  • Maintain accurate customer records and documentation
  • Prioritize multiple customer requests while ensuring a high level of service
  • Build strong internal and external relationships through professional communication and collaboration
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in account management, customer service, customer support, order management, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related field
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, distribution, industrial, logistics, or supply chain environment strongly preferred
  • Understanding of order processing, purchase orders, sales orders, and customer fulfillment processes
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and build collaborative relationships
  • Experience using ERP systems, CRM platforms, or order management software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual Spanish-English
  • Experience using Monday.com or similar workflow management platforms
  • Background supporting manufacturing, production, shipping, or operations teams

Compensation
